About the Role

We are seeking strong capability in Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation, supported by practical Windows Server and VMware experience. You will work across secure enterprise cloud operations, pipeline-driven infrastructure delivery and hybrid platform support.

Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer

Location: DXC 22 Viaduct Harbour New Zealand

Key Responsibilities

Azure Cloud Operations

• Operate, support and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure environments, including compute, storage, networking, Entra ID, RBAC/PIM, Key Vault, Azure Policy, backup/recovery and PaaS services.
• Manage and support Azure services including VM/VMSS, APIM, Azure Front Door and WAF.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD-based deployments using Azure DevOps and Terraform/Bicep.
• Automate operational activities using PowerShell, Python, Bash and Azure CLI.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates, custom domains and certificate renewals/rotations.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and KQL.
• Contribute to cloud governance, security, cost management and operational standards.

Skill Sets

• Azure DevOps: Boards, Repos, Pipelines, CI/CD and release management.
• DevOps Practices: Git, branching, pull requests, code reviews and deployment governance.
• IaC & Automation: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates and scripting.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and KQL.
• Cloud Security: IAM/RBAC, PIM, Key Vault and SSL/TLS certificate management.

Enterprise Operations and Service Delivery

• Provide proactive and reactive support for production infrastructure and cloud environments, including monitoring, incident response, problem investigation, service request fulfilment and change execution.
• Take ownership of technical issues and drive them through diagnosis, resolution, validation and clear stakeholder communication.
• Work within ITIL-aligned incident, problem and change management processes, meeting relevant service levels and operational standards.
• Participate in the on-call roster and perform after-hours work where required by the assignment.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, support records and knowledge articles.

VMware and Windows Infrastructure Engineering

• Support Windows Server builds, configuration, patching, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance.
• Administer and troubleshoot VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter where required within hybrid customer environments.
• Support core infrastructure services such as Active Directory, networking, storage, monitoring and security controls.
• Contribute to hybrid infrastructure, workload migration, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities.
