National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Benefits and Value Manager to join our sponsorship team within Major Projects. As the Benefits and Value Manager, you will lead on Benefits and Value Management activities for a selection of major projects and work collaboratively with the delivery teams to strengthen project business cases and maximise benefits and efficiencies, to ensure our projects deliver best value for money solutions.

Please note this role can be based from any of our UK offices however travel to other offices to attend team meetings will be required.

  • Provide single point guidance in the application of Benefits and Value Management for a selection of projects, maintaining the appropriate and effective application to all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring investment proposals fit with the long term plans of National Highways and develop robust communication channels for conveying project benefits.
  • Working collaborate with our delivery partners and programme sponsors and leaders to actively support the realisation of benefits from delivery frameworks.
  • Facilitate discussions on the purpose, scope, and objective of our projects, ensuring that the objectives are SMART and in line with our customer and stakeholders needs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on driving value in our project designs, adhering closely to our value engineering and design management approaches.

About you.

  • Proven structural problem solving and analytical decision-making skills
  • Proven experience of applying value management processes within the infrastructure industry or similar
  • Excellent Benefit Management comprehension – BCR, KPI and VfM.
  • Proven ability to drive a proactive and positive influence, advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven facilitation experience in workshops and working groups.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
