Job Description

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Infrastructure Automation Engineer to support the delivery of reliable, secure automation for our Windows Server estate within Platform Engineering Configuration Management. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, eager to learn, and enjoys solving problems with code. You will work alongside senior engineers to develop and improve automation using Ansible and PowerShell, follow established engineering standards, and help reduce manual work through repeatable processes, testing, and documentation.

Why this role is important to us

The team you will be joining is a part of Platform Engineering Configuration Management, a function that is vital to the company as it helps deliver secure, consistent, and scalable server configuration across the Windows estate while reducing manual effort and supporting operational resilience and compliance.

What you will be responsible for

As a Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will:
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles to scan and configure Windows servers consistently and securely, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contribute to automation repositories in Git: implement small enhancements, fix defects, improve role documentation, and update inventories and variables.
- Support CI/CD activities for automation changes, including linting, basic tests, packaging and release, and help troubleshoot failed pipeline runs.
- Create, maintain, and automate operational and compliance reporting, such as vulnerability status, configuration drift, and job success or failure, using Splunk dashboards, searches, and Excel-based reporting where needed.
- Participate in operational support activities, including investigating automation failures, reviewing data, updating Ansible objects, and contributing to continuous improvement through post-incident actions.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server fundamentals, including services, event logs, registry basics, filesystems, permissions, and Group Policy.
  • Basic scripting ability in PowerShell and YAML, with a willingness to learn good practices such as error handling, logging, and safe patterns.
  • Working knowledge of Excel for reporting and basic data manipulation, including pivots, lookups, and filters, along with basic Splunk knowledge for operational reporting and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory fundamentals, Windows authentication concepts, Git-based workflows, Ansible concepts, and secure configuration practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, ability to follow documented processes, and awareness of security and compliance controls such as CIS policies and NIST.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure automation or a related role.

Additional requirements

Being flexible to work on weekend if required for release deployments

Work Requirement

  • Shift timing: 13:00 - 22:00 IST
