About Aubrant

Aubrant Digital is a leader in multi-shore custom application development. We are passionate about solving our clients’ business problems through consultative teamwork, innovative software, and proven processes. We’ve served more than 50 clients and delivered hundreds of high quality, custom enterprise applications. Our clients value us as integral team members who get the job done on time and on spec, and we are proud of our high client retention rate and under 2% staff turnover. With offices in New Jersey, Boston, Costa Rica, and Eastern Europe, we execute the full software lifecycle, from architecture and design through development, QA and application maintenance & support. Our company culture emphasizes client service, trust-based relationships, and innovation.

About the role

Aubrant Digital is seeking an Infrastructure Administrator to join the systems operations team supporting a large US-based client’s data center: about 2,000 Windows and Linux virtual servers on VMware, patched through Tanium, with Pure Storage and Rubrik behind them. This role is based in India; Hyderabad is preferred. The client’s monthly patch cycle and most of its scheduled overnight changes fall inside the India working day, so you will do much of the work the client books outside US business hours: run the monthly OS patch cycle for Windows and Linux servers in Tanium, with pre-checks, validation, and rollback; apply hypervisor, host, and application stack updates in planned change windows; build and decommission virtual machines from standard templates; carry out add, move, and change requests; watch the client’s monitoring channels and act on alerts; work the ticket queue through incident, change, and problem management; restore files and servers from Rubrik when asked; and end every shift with a written handoff in the client’s ticketing system and Teams channel so the US day team starts with a clear picture. You will join Aubrant’s cloud and infrastructure engineering group (we call it a Studio), which gives you a technical leader to escalate to, peers on other engagements to call on, and a shared catalog of scripts and hardened builds to start from.

Must-Have Requirements

  • 4+ years administering Windows Server and Linux (RHEL or CentOS) in an enterprise data center, and comfortable working on both in the same shift.
  • Enterprise server patch management (Tanium, SCCM, WSUS, or Red Hat Satellite), including pre-checks, validation, and rollback.
  • VM builds from templates, post-build configuration, and decommissioning on VMware vSphere.
  • Scripting in PowerShell and Bash to automate repeated tasks, with changes kept in a Git repository (the client uses GitHub)
  • Networking fundamentals (server IP addressing, subnets, firewall rules) and the ability to explain a needed network change to the network team.
  • Ability to triage and resolve tickets and alerts independently through incident, change, and problem management, escalating only when needed.
  • Experience on an operations shift that hands off to a team in another time zone, with clear written handoffs at the end of each shift.
  • Professional written and spoken English; written handoffs and regular calls with a US-based client team.

Should-Have Requirements

  • Tanium for OS patching.
  • Rubrik backup and restore operations, and working knowledge of Pure Storage.
  • Chef or Ansible for configuration management (the client’s Linux estate is automated through Chef).
  • Active Directory and Entra ID basics: domain joins, service accounts, and Group Policy as they apply to servers.
  • Azure IaaS basics (the client uses Azure for off-site backup and expects to move more workloads there).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Datadog, or Prometheus.

Could-Have / Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Experience supporting a Windows Server OS upgrade or a VMware platform migration.
  • Python.
  • Relevant vendor certifications (not required; hands-on experience is valued over certificates).

Ideal Candidate Traits:

  • Curious, proactive, and collaborative.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Committed to delivering solutions together, not in competition.
  • Works comfortably inside the client’s incident, change, and problem management, keeps looking for the next thing to automate, and promotes a one-team culture.
