Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure within Information Technology, the Student will be responsible for the assisting with monitoring, maintaining, and documenting the company’s enterprise system environments including but not limited to Active Directory, Windows Servers, VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft 365/Azure

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Function
• To support, maintain and improve the Technical Infrastructure environment to meet the goals and requirements for all divisions of Ensign Energy Services.

Scope of Work
• Server and network administration including:
• Active Directory
◦ Maintain user accounts
◦ Monitor and maintain directory services such as DNS and DHCP

• Windows Servers
◦ Monitor and maintain Windows servers
◦ Install Windows Updates
◦ Review event logs

• Citrix
◦ Citrix DaaS
◦ Citrix XenApp
◦ Citrix Cloud

• VMWare
◦ Monitoring and maintaining vSphere environment
◦ Monitoring and maintaining virtual machines
◦ Deploy new servers

• Microsoft 365/Azure
◦ Monitor and maintain identity services in Azure
◦ Monitor and maintain virtual machines in Azure
◦ Monitor and maintain Microsoft 365 services including:
▪ Microsoft Office
▪ Exchange Online
▪ Microsoft Teams
▪ Microsoft OneDrive
▪ SharePoint Online
• Networking
◦ Monitor and maintain the IP infrastructure including firewalls, switching, wireless
◦ Assemble and deploy Starlink units
◦ Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
• Projects
◦ Assist with implementation of ongoing projects

• Documentation
◦ Creation and maintenance of system and installation documentation.
◦ Inventory management
• Remote Support
◦ Administration, Network Support and Desktop Support for remote locations.
◦ On-site support and administration for remote locations
◦ Phone support for remote locations
◦ Assisting with equipment deployment to field locations

• Other duties as required

OTHER DUTIES

• Business Ethics – Fully understands Ensign’s ethics policy and its application in all business dealings including contractual agreements and contract negotiations.
• Occupational Health and Safety – Fully understands the Ensign Health and Safety policy and self-responsibility for his/her own health and safety at work. Responsible to avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of others through any act or omission.
◦ Responsible for the correct use protective clothing and equipment as provided by Ensign and for guarding against misuse or damage to such equipment.
◦ Responsible for reporting any hazardous situations arising in the workplace that cannot be self corrected, or injury incurred during the course of work, no matter how minor.
◦ Responsible for avoiding injury resulting from manual handling tasks associated with his/her employment, by use of risk assessment, correct mechanical handling equipment and correct manual handling techniques.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required
• Basic knowledge of IT systems including Windows Servers, ITSM concepts, network architecture
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot computer network hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Knowledge of available computing and/or network hardware and peripheral equipment.
• Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware and/or software solutions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred
• Experience with Citrix / SharePoint / Microsoft SQL / VMWare
• Experience/exposure to Project Management concepts and methodologies
• Oilfield experience, specifically in the Energy Services sector, would be a definite asset
• Knowledge of security best practices

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Some travel may be required, including United States and International.
