The Association of Former Students engages and inspires the Aggie Network for Texas A&M University in perpetuating the Aggie Spirit. Through our Annual Fund, as well as other revenue streams, we provide scholarships, endowments, emergency student loans, and awards for faculty excellence. Our newest colleague will join our highly motivated Information Technology team in advancing our mission through supporting high quality and efficient responses to The Association’s technology-related needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, support IT operations through:

  • Covering basic Help Desk duties.
  • Assisting with both hardware and software issues.
  • Maintaining printers, scanners, copiers, VOIP, and audiovisual systems.
  • Assisting with network and server installation.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Troubleshooting.
  • Network security.
  • Customer Relations.

This position may be assigned other duties from time to time that align with the education, knowledge, skills and experience outlined in this job posting.

EMPLOYEES OF THE ASSOCIATION OF FORMER STUDENTS

  • Participate in various Association-wide activities such as engagement and fundraising goals, internal event teams, task committees, attending gameday receptions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and other external events as required.
  • Serve as an ambassador by meeting our Team Expectations, fostering relationships with students and other constituents of Texas A&M.
  • Exemplify Our Core Values: Respect, Excellence, Loyalty, Leadership, Integrity, Service.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficient with Windows operating system.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Classroom or workplace exposure to working with computer peripherals.
  • Classroom or workplace exposure to working with audiovisual equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic troubleshooting techniques.

Preferred Requirements

  • Completed coursework in network security theory.

PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit or stand for long periods on occasion and carry objects up to 20 pounds at events. Ability to work at a desk with frequent use of keyboard and monitor.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
Required:
Currently enrolled in university technology-related coursework.

Preferred: Currently enrolled as a student at Texas A&M in College Station in a technology-related degree program.

The Association of Former Students traces its origin to the Ex-Cadets Association formed in 1879 and later to the A&M Alumni Association and Alpha Phi Fraternity. In 1919, a coalition was formed and adopted the name "The Association of Former Students."​ Since 1879 much has changed in organization and details, but the fundamental objectives of The Association remain the same.
