Job Title: IT Business Analyst, Finance (D365 F&O)

Reporting To: Director of Business Systems

POSITION LOCATION

This position is based at Ensign Energy Services Inc. Head Office in Calgary, Alberta.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Business Systems, Information Technology, the IT Business Analyst, Finance position is the subject matter expert for financial processes (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Budgeting etc.). The Business Analyst champions process improvements, identifies root causes of issues, delays, and quality problems and then recommends solutions. The Business Analyst works with the business users in Finance, SCM, and with the wider IT team to resolve application-related issues.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

• Provide input and advice regarding ERP capabilities and functionality to Ensign business users and IT Management.
• Assist and participate within a project team environment in deploying new versions of the ERP application including configuration, testing, data migration and training.
• Participate in supporting D365 users with the use of the application’s financial functionality and the resolution of issues.
• Recommend process improvements and identify opportunities to define/follow standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to developing training documentation tailored to process specific needs. Identify end user training participants and assist with training (super-users and end-users).
• Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 - 5 years Business Analyst experience with Microsoft Dynamics along with 3 - 5 years of accounting experience.
• Post secondary education or equivalent in related field (Computer Science, Commerce, Finance, etc.)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders.
• Experience in/with:
• Working closely with business owners/stakeholders to understand business needs, processes and data sources.
• Translating business needs into written, clearly defined and detailed requirements.
• Ability to:
• Take initiative, be a decisive decision-maker and show confidence in decisions made.
• Work independently and as a part of a team to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Understand client needs, identify root causes of problems, and implement pragmatic solutions.
• Create detailed functional and technical design specifications for software development.
• Develop rapport and strong working relationships with people at all levels within the organization.

DESIRABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous work experience in Oil and Gas, specifically in the Energy Services sector, would be an asset
