JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Information Systems Technology Asset Management Specialist is responsible for the planning, coordination, governance, documentation, procurement, financial management, and lifecycle management of enterprise IT Infrastructure assets across a large, complex on-premises environment. This position serves as the central coordination point between Infrastructure Engineering Teams, Finance Officer, Enterprise Procurement Team, Leadership, and external vendors to ensure technology assets are properly planned, acquired, tracked, maintained, supported, and retired throughout their lifecycle.

The enterprise environment consists of thousands of technology assets spanning multiple infrastructure domains, including network, storage, data platforms, operating systems platforms (e.g., Linux & Windows), databases (e.g., Oracle), web services, software licenses, and vendor maintenance agreements contracts from multiple IT vendors.

This is a senior enterprise-level IT Asset Management position that integrates technical infrastructure knowledge with IT asset lifecycle governance, procurement coordination, financial procurement planning, vendor management, and project management to support a mission-critical infrastructure environment. The role requires an understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies to effectively collaborate with infrastructure engineering teams while applying sound business, financial, and operational practices to support executive leadership, procurement, finance, and long-term technology planning.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and project management capabilities, excellent communication and relationship management skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of enterprise IT asset records, financial plans, procurement activities, lifecycle documentation, and technology refresh strategies. This position plats a critical role in enabling informed business decisions, optimizing technology investments, minimizing operational risk, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization’s IT infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work/military experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise IT Asset Management

Manage and maintain the enterprise inventory of technology assets throughout their entire lifecycle, including:

  • Physical server hardware
  • Storage hardware
  • Network hardware
  • Data platform hardware
  • Database platform hardware
  • Virtualization infrastructure
  • Software version and licenses
  • Vendor maintenance agreements and warranties
  • Vendor support contracts
  • Cloud-connected infrastructure components (where applicable)

Ensure all asset information is accurate, complete, and continuously maintained.

Infrastructure Lifecycle Management

Develop and maintain comprehensive lifecycle plans for all infrastructure assets.

Maintain enterprise lifecycle roadmaps for management planning.

End-of-Life (EOL) / End-of Support (EOS) Management

Develop and maintain comprehensive EOL/EOS tracking for all infrastructure technologies.

Procurement and Technology Ordering

Serve as the primary coordinator for infrastructure technology procurement. Responsibilities include:

Vendor Management

Coordinate with multiple enterprise technology vendors.

Software Asset Management

Maintain accurate records and ensure software licensing remains compliant with vendor agreements.

Hardware Asset Management

Maintain detailed inventory

Infrastructure Configuration Documentation

Maintain enterprise documentation

Maintain version history for infrastructure upgrades.

Financial Planning and Budget Management

Support enterprise infrastructure financial planning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Track annual infrastructure budgets
  • Track technology spending
  • Monitor capital expenditures (CapEx)
  • Monitor operational expenditures (OpEx)
  • Forecast technology refresh costs
  • Track procurement expenditures
  • Prepare financial reports to management
  • Support budget planning cycles
  • Coordinate with Finance Budget Officer
  • Assist leadership with budget projections

Maintain detailed spend plans for multiple fiscal years.

Project Coordination

Coordinate infrastructure lifecycle project including:

  • Hardware fresh projects
  • Software upgrade projects
  • Operating system migrations
  • Linux refresh
  • Storage refresh
  • Network refresh
  • License renewals
  • Vendor maintenance renewals
  • Infrastructure modernization initiatives

Reporting

Develop reports to include:

  • Asset inventory reports
  • Lifecycle reports
  • Budget reports
  • Spend reports
  • Procurement status
  • EOL/EOS reports
  • Maintenance renewal reports
  • Risk assessments
  • Project status reports
  • Technology refresh roadmaps
