Job Description

Are you ready to take your career to the next level?

Leidos is on the lookout for a passionate and mission‑driven Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team at Fort Bliss, Texas! If you’re ready to play a pivotal role in protecting some of the nation’s most critical systems, this is your chance to make a real impact. To be considered, you’ll need to bring an active TS/SCI clearance — because you’ll be stepping straight into work that matters from day one. As an ISSO, you’ll deliver expert Cybersecurity support services, partnering with the ACC Cybersecurity Chief Information Security Officer and unit ISSOs to maintain a powerful, effective program that safeguards the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of AF IC information resources.

Note: This would be for a potential opening, so we are looking ahead to identify talented professionals who align with the requirements of the mission.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the charge in developing local unit Cybersecurity programs and security plans in alignment with ACC, AF, IC, and DoD guidance.

  • Dive deep into data—analyze compliance, track progress, and report results on Cybersecurity programs, POA&Ms, A&A workflow tools, patch management, IAVA alerts, DoD 8570.01M certifications, FISMA compliance, and ATOs to unit leadership and higher headquarters.

  • Collaborate and advise—work with local units and HHQ IISMs to deliver assessments, recommend courses of action, and provide solutions that strengthen Cybersecurity programs.

  • Empower others—develop and deliver hands-on training to government civilians, contractors, and military personnel on IT security tools, policies, and procedures to ensure resources are protected and standards are met.

*Additional duties may include performing some Special Security Officer (SSO)/ Special Security Representatives functions in order to fulfill evolving customer requirements (training provided).

What You Bring (Required):

  • TS/SCI clearance on day one—ready to hit the ground running.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).

  • Current IAT Level II certification required.

  • Proven expertise with Assessment and Authorization documents, assessments, and Cybersecurity program tasks.

  • At least two years of experience with AF and IC plans and policies.

This isn’t just another Cybersecurity role—it’s a chance to make a direct impact on national security while working alongside some of the best in the field.
