Job Description

Kaizen Approach is currently seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to perform and review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities, non-compliance with Information Assurance standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies. In this role, you will validate and verify system security requirements and establish system security designs for networking, computing, and enclave environments with varying data protection and classification requirements. You will design, develop, implement, and integrate information assurance and security systems and components while assisting architects and system developers to ensure uniform application of Agency security policy and enterprise solutions. This position involves assessing and mitigating system security risks throughout the program life cycle and supporting security planning, risk analysis, certification, and accreditation activities for system and network operations. You will also support security authorization activities in compliance with NSA/CSS certification processes, DoD and NIST Risk Management Framework requirements, and prescribed NSA/CSS security engineering business processes.
 
Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to participate as a security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments, including serving as the primary representative when required.
  • Must possess the ability to participate as a security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of Information Assurance (IA) architectures, systems, and system components, including serving as the primary representative when required.
  • Must be capable of applying knowledge of Information Assurance policies, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
  • Must have the ability to interact effectively with customers and other project team members to support security engineering activities and mission objectives.
  • Must possess the ability to support the Government in enforcing the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
  • Must be capable of supporting security planning, security assessments, risk analysis, and risk management activities across system and network environments.
  • Must have the ability to identify overall security requirements necessary for the proper handling, protection, and management of Government data.
  • Must have 7 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, OR 11 years of Information Systems Security Engineer experience if a degree is not held, and must meet DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 2.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
Salary Range:
A variety of factors can impact the final salary offered, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specialized skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
