Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) – TS/SCI with Poly

Location: Fort Meade, MD

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $200K - $240K depending on experience

What You’ll Be Doing:

As an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), you’ll play a crucial role in supporting high-impact, mission-critical projects that directly contribute to national security and intelligence operations. You’ll work with elite cybersecurity professionals to assess, secure, and enhance systems to ensure compliance with IA standards and regulations.

This program provides a unique opportunity to engage with multiple teams and projects, applying standardized security criteria, training, and protocols to create consistency and reliability for our government customers.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure IA compliance.

✅ Define, verify, and validate system security requirements and contribute to security architecture.

✅ Implement and integrate IA and cybersecurity solutions across complex environments.

✅ Assist architects and developers in applying security policies and enterprise solutions.

✅ Assess and mitigate security risks throughout the program lifecycle.

✅ Apply expertise in risk management, intrusion detection, incident handling, and security engineering.

✅ Support certification and accreditation activities within NSA/CSS NISCAP, DoD RMF, and NIST RMF frameworks.

What You Need for This Job:

🔹 Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph

🔹 Experience: 10+ years as an ISSE on contracts of similar scope and complexity.

🔹 Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related field. (Four additional years of ISSE experience may be substituted for a degree.)
• 🔹 Certifications:
• DoD 8570 IASAE Level 2 compliance (e.g., CISSP, CSSLP, or equivalent)

What Will Set You Apart?

💡 A Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or a related field (may substitute for six years of experience).

💡 Knowledge of DoD, or Intelligence Community security frameworks.
