Information Security Operations Analyst | Sydney

Help strengthen and protect the security posture of a leading Australian IT services provider.

At efex, no two days are the same. As our Information Security Operations Analyst, you’ll play a key role in protecting our internal IT environment, monitoring security operations, and helping drive continuous improvement across our cyber security landscape.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across security operations, vulnerability management, Microsoft security technologies, and compliance frameworks in a fast-paced MSP environment.

The Role

Based in Sydney and reporting to the CISO, you’ll help ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of efex information assets through the effective management of our internal security operations environment.

You’ll work across security operations monitoring, vulnerability management, compliance alignment, and security tooling maintenance while supporting efex’s broader cyber security strategy.

In this role, you’ll:

• Monitor and manage internal security alerts, incidents, and ticket queues
• Maintain and improve efex’s internal security posture across systems and devices
• Support vulnerability management activities across the business
• Work with Microsoft security technologies including Defender, Intune, Entra ID, and Conditional Access
• Assist with maintaining alignment to Essential 8, ISO 27001, and security best practices
• Respond to and escalate security incidents where required
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement across security operations and processes
• Help automate security management and reporting activities using scripting and automation tools

About You

You’re technically strong, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a genuine interest in cyber security operations and continuous improvement.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience working in a Security Operations, Systems Administration, or Cyber Security role
• Strong understanding of Microsoft security technologies and the M365 ecosystem
• Experience with Intune, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and endpoint security controls
• Exposure to vulnerability management and cyber security tooling
• Understanding of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or Essential 8
• PowerShell scripting or automation experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• MSP experience highly regarded
