About the Role
Signant Health is hiring an Information Security Intern to join our global Information Security team in Blue Bell. This is a remote, non-exempt internship running approximately three months at 20 hours per week, with bi-monthly onsite meetings at our Blue Bell, PA office — candidates MUST reside within commuting distance.
You will gain hands-on experience across a broad range of security tools and disciplines while working alongside experienced practitioners on a globally distributed team.
What you will do
• Provide operational support for select information security activities and tools, including vulnerability management, DLP, and EDR.
• Monitor the Information Security ticketing queues and mailbox and respond to incoming requests for service.
• Assist the Information Security team in implementing security-related projects.
• Help develop and maintain security documentation.
• Help produce regular KPI/metrics and status reports.
• Support the team's use of AI-based automation to improve processes and reporting.
• Provide support as needed for ongoing departmental business-as-usual activities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a degree program in information security, information systems, computer science, or another relevant field.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Comfortable working independently while seeking guidance from the team and leadership as needed.
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate time differences across a global workforce.
• Ability to work effectively across interdepartmental and international teams.
Desired Qualifications
• Familiarity with JIRA.
• Familiarity with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testing applications (e.g., Burp Suite, Metasploit), EDR/NDR, and SIEM.
• Understanding of programming languages.
• Familiarity with information security frameworks (NIST, HITRUST, ISO 27001, etc.).
• Familiarity with Claude AI, Claude Code, or other similar AI tools.
