The Information Security Engineer III assumes a leadership role within their security team at Mass General Brigham. The Information Security Engineer III is tasked with designing and implementing innovative security solutions while also optimizing existing security infrastructure. They are adept at leading complex projects, coordinating cross-team efforts, and overseeing the work of junior engineers. In this capacity, the Information Security Engineer III provides technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional development.
The Information Security Engineer III may represent the organization in industry forums or regulatory discussions. Additionally, this role actively engages with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to establish collaborative security strategies and ensure alignment with industry trends and best-in-class security practices
Essential Functions
-Leads the design and implementation of complex security solutions.
-Acts as a technical leader within the team, guiding and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
-Drives innovation by researching and proposing improved security solutions and technologies within their domain.
-Ensures high-quality, maintainable solutions through code/build reviews and best-practice implementation.
-Solves complex technical problems, including system-wide issues and critical incidents.
-Drives cross-functional collaboration with vendors, partners, and stakeholders to maximize the effectiveness of our solutions.

Associate's Degree Related Field of Study required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Experience in information security, with a focus on healthcare environments 5-7 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in cybersecurity concepts within their domain.

- An ability to apply original and innovative thinking to produce new ideas.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
