Information Security Coordinator, IT Operations

100% in-person in our Sacramento office

We are seeking an Information Security Coordinator to join FoundationCCC in its mission of benefiting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. What You’ll Do

The Information Security Coordinator is responsible for implementing and enforcing security standards, policies and procedures, and annual security program activities. Reporting to the Director of Office and IT Operations and working closely with the IT Operations team, the Information Security Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of Information Security governance, risk and compliance. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of the Information Security program. It will play an essential role in implementing best practices and procedures related to information security.

  • Support the organization in tracking compliance with security policies, procedures, and standards. Coordinate review schedules, collect stakeholder input, and track documents through the approval process. Coordinate the scheduling, distribution, and tracking of information security training assignments across the Foundation, including role-based training for designated groups.
  • Monitor security dashboards, alert queues, and user activity according to established procedures. Triage and document alerts and escalate items requiring higher-level analysis to the ISO or IT leadership. Maintain a master tracker of all information security documents (policies, plans, charters, runbooks), including version status, review dates, and assigned owners.
  • Support departmental security engagement by distributing charter templates, collecting responses, scheduling validation reviews, and compiling results for leadership, and serving as the operational point of contact for cross-departmental security coordination, routing questions and requests to the appropriate technical resource

Attributes for Success

  • Relevant AS/BS, equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.
  • One to three years of experience in computer systems with some specialization in computer security high preferred.
  • CompTIA Sec+ preferred
  • Experience with common security tools in Windows and Mac.

Budgeted Hourly Pay Range:

$25.00 - $28.85

Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
