Job Description

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a highly experienced Information Security Analyst to protect organizational systems, applications, and data assets by ensuring secure system design, implementation, and operation. This role is responsible for analyzing security requirements, evaluating system functionality, supporting secure implementation efforts, and ensuring compliance with applicable security standards and policies.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, deep technical experience, and the ability to translate business and user requirements into secure, compliant system solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze system security requirements based on user input and business needs
  • Evaluate business requirements and recommend secure technical alternatives
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical and security documentation
  • Conduct security testing and validation of development and production software to ensure proper functionality and compliance
  • Support the secure implementation and integration of computer systems to meet customer requirements
  • Identify system vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and stakeholders to ensure security controls are properly implemented
  • Support risk assessments, audits, and compliance activities
  • Ensure adherence to applicable cybersecurity frameworks and organizational policies

Required Qualifications

  • Four-year degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a related Information Technology (IT) role
  • Experience developing system requirements based on user input
  • Experience analyzing business requirements and evaluating technical alternatives
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation
  • Experience testing development and production software for correct functionality
  • Experience implementing computer systems to meet customer requirements
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting secure system design within government or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks and cybersecurity compliance standards
  • Experience conducting vulnerability assessments or security control testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
