This is an Information Security Analyst III position within the Florida Department of Revenue’s Information Services Program located in Tallahassee, and reports to the Information Security Manager. This role serves as a Security Service Coordinator supporting the coordination, tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity services across the Department. The position works closely with security leadership and with Security Operations, Governance Risk and Compliance, infrastructure, application, and program teams to help ensure that security activities, decisions, deadlines, risks, issues, and follow-up actions are clearly understood and completed. Unlike some technology services, cybersecurity is not delivered only when requested; it is embedded across systems, operations, and business processes to help protect Department systems and data while supporting authorized business activity. This position helps identify where security services are working well, where friction or gaps exist, and what actions are needed to improve service delivery, communication, measurement, and follow-through. The role requires strong organization, communication, judgment, discretion, follow-through, and the ability to learn cybersecurity concepts and apply them in a practical operational environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, project coordination, program coordination, business analysis, compliance, service management, administrative/program support, or a related field. *
  • Two years of experience performing one or more of the following as part of assigned job responsibilities:
    • Coordinating work across multiple teams or stakeholders.
    • Tracking action items, deadlines, deliverables, risks, issues, decisions, or follow-up activities.
    • Preparing meeting notes, status reports, dashboards, briefings, procedures, or other operational documentation.
    • Supporting process improvement, service improvement, audit, compliance, risk, or operational review activities.
    • Working in or supporting a technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, compliance, government, or regulated operational environment.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, business administration, public administration, project management, industrial engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related field may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. *

PREFERENCES:

The following qualifications are preferred and represent common areas of experience for this role. Candidates are not expected to have experience in all areas.

  • One year of experience coordinating projects, programs, services, operational work, or administrative functions across multiple teams.
  • One year of experience tracking action items, decisions, deadlines, risks, issues, deliverables, or schedules.
  • One year of experience preparing status reports, dashboards, meeting notes, briefings, procedures, or executive-level updates.
  • One year of experience supporting IT, cybersecurity, infrastructure, audit, compliance, risk, service management, or regulated operations.
  • One year of experience identifying process gaps, workflow issues, recurring problems, or improvement opportunities.
  • One year of experience translating technical, operational, audit, risk, or compliance information into clear summaries or actionable recommendations.
  • Experience working in government, finance, healthcare, critical services, or another regulated environment.
  • Experience with project management, process improvement, service management, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, ISO 20000, NIST, IRS Publication 1075, Florida Administrative Code 60GG-2, or similar frameworks.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CAPM, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, Security+, CISSP, CISA, CISM, or similar.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • This position is located in Tallahassee, FL.
  • The tentative salary for this position is $60,000.00 annually.

SALARY: $57,000.00 - $63,000.00 / annually
