Description

The Division of Administrative Services is hiring an Information Officer II that performs professional
journalistic functions in the development, implementation, and distribution of informational programs and
materials in various formats, which may include social media, to make the public aware of the programs and
services available through state government agencies.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Responds to requests from DMA and KYARNG customers by phone or email.
  • Researches information requested by the KYARNG customers and write reports of fact sheets for future department project consideration.
  • Develops G6 informational materials, including brochures, forms, newsletters, meeting programs, and training documents, for distribution.
  • Assists with developing and distributing media, such as audio-video products, KYNG heritage prints, and command advertisements.
  • Maintains G6 social media sites and submits social media content.
  • Writes, edits, and distributes internal and external communications, press releases, media responses, social media posts, remarks, scripts, and videos to promote G6 functions and programs using SharePoint Newsfeeds, and Teams.
  • Assists the KYNG records manager with records and content management development and training.
  • Assists with mail operations as needed.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Two years of experience in journalism, public relations, or experience related to the duties and responsibilities of this job title series.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
