Role and responsibilities
The Information Management Officer will act as the area office data focal point. S/he will help coordinate data and information management between the programme, the implementing partners, and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team at the Area Office. S/he will support the Core Competency (CC) Project Manager(s)/Project Coordinator(s) and implementing partner(s) with data collection, analysis storage, and reporting.
Generic responsibilities

Support the formulation of the Indicator Performance Tracking (IPT) and plans to address indicator reporting requirements.
Provide technical guidance on the design of data capture processes.
Supervise data capture processes to ensure they are implemented according to plans and agreed standards.
Provide analysis of information and data to address indicator reporting requirements.
Manage data entry into GORS, ensuring data is entered timely and accurately.
Maintain CC files, databases, and other archives documenting project progress.
Provide training and support to NRC and partner staff on data capture, analysis, and use.
Maintain CC-specific portion of data capture, analysis, and warehousing platforms (e.g. Collect and SharePoint) is well organised and accessible.
Liaise with other units on areas of common responsibility.
Specific responsibilities
Develop and administer a CC information management system for project implementation, including but not limited to needs assessment, identification of beneficiaries, selection and targeting, distribution and reconciliation of deliverables (RoDs).
Develop and maintain CC information management tools, formats, and metadata schemes for online information services to standardise content capture, storage, search, and retrieval.
Run data sanity checks on GORS by comparing data collected with narrative reports and previous reporting periods to ensure the quality and precision of the reported data.
Calculate and track direct beneficiary/total reach, indirect and unique beneficiaries per the proposal and Donor's expectations.
Provide data for internal and external reporting including area office-level, clusters and donor reporting regularly.
Liase with MEL team to update and adjust the Monitoring and Evaluation tools as required.
Maintain and improve the database developed for beneficiary tracking.

Generic professional competencies for this position
Minimum 2 years of experience in an international NGO, preferably in M&E, Data management or Information Management System (IMS);
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, social studies, development studies or higher diploma in Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation or similar with at least 2-3 years of active professional experience in data management, preferably in an emergency or post-conflict setting;
Thorough experience with developing databases and beneficiary-tracking tools;
Demonstrated ability in electronic data collection, data cleaning and analysing;
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases and data analysis tools.
Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis;
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience
Knowledge of the context in south Sudan;
Experience with remotely managed programming;
Experience in GIS mapping is an advantage;
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
