We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Management Lead to join the Direct Procured for Customers (DPC) Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

What we do:

Everyone has an idea of what a water company does. Here in Yorkshire, we make sure that over 5.4 million people living in the region and the millions of people who visit our region each year, can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap and that their wastewater is taken away. But for us, it’s so much more than this.

We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to look after Yorkshire’s water, today, tomorrow 24/7, 365 days a year. We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the region’s health, wellbeing, and prosperity.

Yorkshire Water is delivering a major programme of infrastructure investment and we're looking for an Information Management Lead to help establish the information management capability that will support its successful delivery.

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll define the standards, processes, governance and ways of working that will become the foundation for how project information is managed across the programme.

The Opportunity

As Information Management Lead, you'll be responsible for creating and embedding the programme's information management approach.

Working closely with digital, engineering, commercial and project delivery teams, you'll establish the systems, standards and governance needed to ensure information is secure, accessible, compliant and trusted.

We're looking for someone who has experience of building or transforming an information management function, framework, team or operating model within a large, complex or regulated environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing and executing the programme's Information Management strategy.
  • Establishing information governance, document control and data management standards.
  • Creating a single source of truth for programme information and design records.
  • Defining and governing information security, classification and retention requirements.
  • Establishing supplier assurance processes and ensuring compliance with agreed standards.
  • Leading the implementation and ongoing management of information management systems and tools.
  • Embedding information management requirements across project teams and supply chain partners.
  • Providing leadership, coaching and guidance to project teams and future information management resources.
  • Working with senior stakeholders to drive adoption of new ways of working.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience establishing or transforming an Information Management, Document Control, Records Management or Digital Information function.
  • Experience implementing information management systems, processes and governance frameworks from a low level of maturity or within a start-up programme environment.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure, construction, engineering or capital delivery programmes.
  • Strong understanding of information governance, data management and document control principles.
  • Experience working with Common Data Environments (CDEs), EDMS platforms and digital collaboration tools.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and change.

Desirable

  • Experience of ISO 19650, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001.
  • Experience implementing ISO19650 information management requirements.
  • Experience leading or developing Information Management teams.
  • Water, utilities, transport, energy or other regulated industry experience.
  • Knowledge of GIS, Digital Twin or wider digital delivery technologies.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in Information Management, Information Science, Records Management or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualification or accreditation desirable.
  • Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent) advantageous.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to shape how information is managed across a major programme from day one. Rather than inheriting mature processes, you'll help create the capability, establish best practice and leave a lasting legacy for the organisation.

Although we operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it’s important to us that we support flexible working patterns and job share options (when we can), to help you make the best of both your work and home life. We know that juggling childcare responsibilities or getting that ideal work/life balance isn’t always easy!

Do we sound like your cup of tea?

If you’ve got experience as an Information Management Lead and want to help us deliver great service for our customers whilst looking after the environment, then be sure to apply today to find out what a career with Yorkshire Water can offer you.

Accessibility

We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring our recruitment process is accessible to everyone. We offer a range of adjustments to make your application experience as comfortable and straightforward as possible.

If you have an accessibility need, disability, or condition that requires changes to the recruitment process, please include this information in your application. We will then discuss any reasonable adjustments required.

Just a heads-up! We might start interviewing and close the position based on the response. To make sure you’re considered, please send in your application as soon as you can.

If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third-Party Company, prior to commencing employment. Depending on the role, you may also be required to go through the security vetting process for either a Counter Terrorist Check or Security Check clearance.

All our roles are subject to a medical questionnaire, and further medicals when required.
