Terms of Reference
The Information Management (Protection Unit) Intern is supervised by the Head of Field Unit and works closely with the entire Nouadhibou team. S/he also collaborates with the Information Management Officer and the Protection team in Nouakchott.
S/he will support all activities related to information management within the Nouadhibou office, i.e., registration, RSD, community-based protection, or mixed movements. In addition, s/he will assist the Nouadhibou UNHCR team in the production of reports and any other supporting documents, in coordination with the Information Management team in Nouakchott.
Duties and responsibilities
• Participate in the production of dashboards, statistics, and visualizations to support decision-making and presentations.
• Assist with the cleaning, harmonization, and quality control of data received from the field and partners.
• Prepare monthly and weekly reports related to protection and assistance activities.
• Support the design and administration of data collection tools (Kobo, online forms, etc.).
• Assist with managing monitoring systems such as ProGres v4, RAIS, or other locally used platforms.
• Contribute to service mapping and geolocation of services, flows, or interventions as needed.
• Participate in training or technical support to partners and colleagues on information management good practices.
• Ensure the archiving, organization, and secure storage of documents and files related to data management.
• Provide occasional support for administrative tasks.
• Perform any other related duties as required.
Desirable qualifications and skills
• First Required Language is English at B2 level
• Proficiency in French is also required.
• Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
• Degree/certificate in information technology, information management, statistical data management, or another related field is required.
