Job Description

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking an Information Governance Analyst to join our team in our Denver, CO office. The Information Governance Analyst supports the Firm’s Information Governance and Records operations. This role ensures that client and Firm information is managed in a consistent, well controlled manner that aligns with legal, regulatory, and client requirements. The position works closely with attorneys, staff, and Information Technology to support records management, data handling practices, and risk management activities, while contributing to high quality service delivery across the Firm.

Responsibilities:

Policy and Government Support

  • Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of information governance and records policies and procedures.
  • Help ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and client requirements related to information and records.

Records Management

  • Manage client and Firm physical and electronic records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Classify, store, retrieve, transfer, and dispose of records following retention and disposition requirements.
  • Use Firm records and document management tools to maintain accurate and complete records.
  • Coordinate with off-site storage facilities and vendors for record storage, retrieval, and destruction.
  • Monitor and manage onsite distributed and centralized filing locations.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Assist with audits and reviews to confirm compliance with information governance and records requirements.
  • Support investigations related to information handling issues or compliance concerns.
  • Implement and support Legal Hold and Client Transfer processes.

Training and Support

  • Provide guidance and support to attorneys and staff on records and information handling practices.
  • Promote awareness of information governance, confidentiality, and secure handling requirements.

Technology and Service Request

  • Work with Information Technology to support records and information governance tools at a high level.
  • Respond to service requests related to workspace setup, file organization, and records management activities.

Client Matter Records

  • Ensure client matter records are properly organized, maintained, and transferred in accordance with Firm policy and client requirements.

Digitization and File Reduction

  • Support digitization and file reduction initiatives, including scanning physical records into electronic workspaces.
  • Prepare records for off-site storage or secure destruction.

Lateral Hires and Departures

  • Support activities related to lateral attorney onboarding, including organization and intake of transferred materials.
  • Assist with departing attorney offboarding to ensure proper transfer, retention, or destruction of records.

Physical Records and Off-Site Work

  • Travel to off-site storage locations, warehouses, or vendors as needed to support records inventory and destruction activities.
  • Pack, move, handle boxes and physical records as part of records management.

Requirements:

  • College degree preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • One to four years of experience in a legal, professional service, or corporate environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting information governance or records management functions in a legal or corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with records or document management systems and related workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Compensation: The estimated salary range for this role is $68,000 - $86,000. Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
