About the Role

Be part of a team delivering the next generation of secure military communications satellites for the UK Ministry of Defence. This work provides resilient, high‑performance connectivity for the UK, its allies and Defence personnel worldwide, playing a critical role in protecting national security as space becomes more contested and demand for secure data continues to grow.

Provides security engineering designs and implementation in all aspects of Information Assurance and Information Security (InfoSec) Engineering.

Assesses and mitigates system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle; validates system security requirements definition and analysis; establishes system security designs; implements security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures; verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities, and supports secure systems operations and maintenance.

Develops highly innovative solutions to problems of unusual complexity. Works under consultative direction towards long-range goals and objectives, often self-initiating assignments. Work is checked through consultation and agreement with others, rather than by a superior.

Designs, researches and develops ideas to generate final products. May take on a project/program leadership role. Decisions impact financial, employee, or public relations posture.

Serves as a consultant on highly significant matters and long-range objectives.

Represents the organisation as a spokesperson on advanced projects.

Applies advanced concepts to develop new applications based on professional theories. Recognized expert in the field within the corporation.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • The successful candidate will be an expert in cyber security/information security and knowledgeable of all aspects of cyber security in relation to space and ground based communication systems, computer systems and other processing systems.
  • Knowledge of NIST standards or equivalents and their implementation in a company is highly desirable.
  • Significant related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
