The Governance, Policy, and Engagement division and the Financial and Business Services division provide strategic leadership and coordinated direction to support Alberta’s post secondary system. Working closely with senior ministry leaders, the division ensures that timely, accurate, and well integrated information is available to support decision making for the Minister, Deputy Minister, and Assistant Deputy Minister. The division plays a central role in tracking and analyzing issues, aligning divisional work with government priorities, and ensuring that complex policy, operational, and communication needs are addressed consistently across program areas. Through strong relationships, proactive issues management, and collaboration with executive offices, the division drives high quality briefing materials, supports cross ministry coordination, and upholds the credibility and effectiveness of the ministry’s policy and strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Strategic Issues Manager, the Information and Issues Advisor plays a key role in managing high‑impact information for the ADM, Deputy Minister, and Minister. This role operates in a dynamic environment that requires sound judgment, political acuity, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights. You will work closely with senior leaders, program areas, and other executive offices to ensure issues are identified early, responses are coordinated effectively, and divisional work aligns with ministry priorities.
