Infection Preventionist- Senior

As a key leader within our healthcare system, you will direct facility-based multidisciplinary teams in executing targeted infection surveillance and managing comprehensive outbreak investigations for both patients and personnel. This role demands a proactive approach to risk mitigation, where you will not only recommend and educate on preventative measures but also co-lead system-level initiatives to elevate infection prevention standards across the organization. You will serve as a vital subject matter expert, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and accrediting agency requirements while mentoring less experienced colleagues and onboarding new Infection Preventionists. By communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders—from clinical staff to external partners—you will champion evidence-based decision-making and uphold an unwavering commitment to patient safety and organizational excellence.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.

  • 3 plus years of infection prevention experience is preferred.

  • Requires Certification in Infection Prevention.

  • Completion of a Mentorship course is required within the first year of hire.

  • Requires knowledge of infectious disease, epidemiology, asepsis and immunology, medical procedures, and medical and environmental microbiology.

  • Requires advanced knowledge of local, state, and national regulations and standards and their impact on infection control.
