Expectations:
The Infection Control Preventionist is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAI); educating employees about infection control prevention; and the development of health system policies and procedures to insure rigorous infection control standards that meet TJC, OSHA, CMS, CDC/NHSN, California statutes and other nationally organized recommendations and requirements. This position requires completion of an Infection Control Program training and CIC. This position is required to be on-call.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing, B.S. Medical Technology, B.S. Biology or Biological Sciences, B.S. Healthcare Administration or Coordination, Master's in Public Health, or Doctor of Medicine required.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum one (1) year experience in Infection Control required. Knowledge of NHSN reporting required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) within 3 years of hire/transfer.
SKILLS:
Computer literacy. Proficiency in use of electronic health records and infection control databases. Competent in Microsoft Office.

Pay Range: The estimated base rate for this position is $129,480.00 - $197,463.00.
Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
