Job Brief

ACES International Preschool and Childcare Center is seeking early education staff: infant and toddler care staff and preschool instructors to create a safe, caring early learning environment. Children are grouped by age ranges to support early learning and development. Instructors and caregivers are responsible for their assigned group of children. Staff will support children with development and learning, ensuring the personal growth of every child; respect diversity and inclusion; establish effective rapport with children; motivate children to reach age appropriate learning progressions; and establish good relationships with parents, staff members, and community members.



Qualifications

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate loves children and understands children’s developmental needs and interests.

Candidate must be 18 years of age with:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional childcare experience.

• Understanding of child development.

• High energy.

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. (preferred but not required)

• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

• Bilingual: English and Spanish (preferred but not required)

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalency

Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and grow.

• Ensuring all safety and security protocols are followed.

• Working with staff and students to develop small and large group learning experiences that

encourage experimentation, creativity, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization

and decision-making.

• Communicating regularly with parents/families, sharing children’s achievements

Physical Demands

• Must adhere to all CT State guidelines and ACES International Preschool and Childcare Center

policies and procedures regarding immunizations, physical exam, and required health and

safety training such as CPR, First Aid, and Administration of Medications, as well as all

Covid-19 related guidelines as revised due to pandemic conditions and response.

• Must have the physical ability to participate indoor and outdoor activities that may include

lifting, moving or holding children from 20-60 pounds as well as walking, squatting, climbing

and sitting on the floor for long periods of time.

• Must be able to maintain mental and physical alertness and respond quickly to emergency

situations.
