Position Description

StFX is seeking a highly relational and entrepreneurial professional to help build one of Canada's emerging graduate talent pipelines in enterprise technology management. Reporting to the Acting Director, Experiential Learning Operations, this position will develop local, national, and international relationships with employers, alumni, and industry partners to secure high-quality six (6) month corporate work experiences while collaborating closely with Master of Enterprise Technology Management (METM) faculty to strengthen student learning and program quality.

The successful candidate will be integral in establishing METM as a preferred source of emerging technology management talent. This role is a unique opportunity to help shape the employer engagement strategy, partnership model, and long-term growth of one of Canada's newest graduate technology management programs.

This position is ideal for a connector who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and creating meaningful connections between industry and higher education. The role requires flexibility, including occasional evening work and regular travel, and will be accountable for securing sufficient high-quality corporate work experiences to meet annual cohort needs. Success will be measured through employer partnership growth, placement outcomes, employer and student satisfaction, repeat employer engagement, and graduate employment success.

Key Responsibilities

• Industry, Employer & Alumni Partnership Development, including, but not limited to, developing, cultivating, and maintaining strategic relationships.
• Corporate Work Experience Program - working collaboratively with campus partners and within established university policies, program standards, and risk management guidelines, lead the operational development, delivery, and ongoing improvement of the METM corporate work experience program.
• Strategic Partnerships & Program Growth - Develop, implement, and evaluate annual employer engagement plans and strategies, additionally building awareness of the program and identifying emerging industry trends.
• Program Collaboration & Industry Engagement - Collaborate with METM faculty, program committee, and Centre for Experiential Learning to support academic goals and student learning outcomes.
• Assessment, Reporting & Continuous Improvement using CRM and other relationship management systems.
• Success Measures - using reporting metrics.
• Collaborate with Centre for Experiential Learning colleagues to leverage employer and industry relationships, identify opportunities that support co-operative education, project-based learning, work-integrated learning, career development, and other experiential learning initiatives, and strengthen employer partnerships across the Centre.

Qualifications

Required

• University degree in Business Administration, Enterprise Systems, Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Economic Development, Social Sciences, or another related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
• Experience building partnerships within the technology, consulting, enterprise systems, digital transformation, or related sectors.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience building strategic relationships with employers, clients, partners, or other external stakeholders. Experience in business development, employer engagement, recruitment, account management, workforce development, talent acquisition, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated success developing partnerships, achieving goals, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, relationship-focused environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility and build trust with employers, alumni, faculty, students, and community partners.
• Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
• Sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially.
• Experience using CRM, customer relationship management, recruitment, or other relationship management systems.

Preferred

• An established network of employers, industry contacts, or alumni that could support corporate work experience opportunities.
• Experience working in post-secondary education, work-integrated learning, student recruitment, or corporate talent acquisition.
• Knowledge of enterprise technology, digital transformation, and emerging workforce trends.
• Understanding of labour market trends and employer recruitment practices within technology and business sectors.
• Experience conducting labour market or industry research to identify partnership opportunities and emerging workforce needs.
• Knowledge of ethical recruitment practices and employer engagement principles, including familiarity with the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) or similar professional standards.
• Understanding of workplace practices related to recruitment, employment, and student work experiences.
