DESRI (formerly D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments) is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. We have acquired or developed approximately 13 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 85 renewable energy projects in 24 states.

What you'll do

In this role, you’ll primarily manage indirect tax (property and sales & use tax) compliance for existing and new renewable projects located across multiple states in the U.S. and corporate entities. You will also be expected to assist the tax team in indirect tax modeling and various forms of accounting, management, and investor reporting, including partnership accounting, hypothetical liquidation at book value (HLBV) modeling, yield tracking, and budget versus actual analysis. To perform this role, you’ll liaise with U.S. and Hyderabad-based deal team members, asset managers, treasury, tax team, external consultants and tax authorities for various tax related matters. You’ll be responsible for initiating periodic state tax payments and addressing tax notices. In addition to this, you’ll work on initiatives related to establishing, standardizing, optimizing and documenting tax processes, workflows and controls.

Who we are looking for

• Eligible for Industrial Training as per ICAI rules and targeting to appear for CA Final exams anytime in 2028 or later
• Candidates should possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to take initiative with limited direction and guidance
• Candidates should possess excellent written and spoken communication skills, and an ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance
• Preferred experience in Taxation (direct or indirect)
