The Role
The Industrial Project Manager focusses on two main aspects Production & Process Technology Manager (PPTM) and Transfer of Production/Maintenance Manager.
As PPTM you are involved throughout the full product lifecycle. During the proposal phase, you work closely with the Industrial Architect to prepare industrialization budget estimates and define the target Supply Chain setup. Based on type of product, this setup can also be external. From the earliest product stages, you:
Define suitable production processes, considering industrial constraints and requirements while complying with safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
Lead maturity assessments for the introduction of new equipment into production.
During the design phase, you work closely with development teams in a co-engineering environment to embed industrial requirements early. You focus on recurring cost targets and technical choices that support repeatable, reproducible processes.
You oversee the introduction of new products into production. Together with the Manager Supply Chain, you ensure the right Supply Chain is in place, manufacturing data is available, and the required production and test capabilities are ready. You define the required skills and ensure teams are properly trained and prepared.
In addition, you drive production preparation and continuous improvement across key industrial deliverables, including:
Industrialization plans
Introduction schedules
Identification of production constraints
Process improvements and related deliverables
Production and maintenance activities may take place internally or externally, across Thales sites, suppliers, or customer locations in the Netherlands and abroad.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage end-to-end production and/or maintenance transfers (ToX), ensuring structured and controlled transitions between Thales sites, suppliers, and customer locations
Define and execute transfer plans covering ramp-up and ramp-down phases, ensuring industrial readiness before execution
Safeguard knowledge transfer, ensuring critical production and maintenance expertise is properly captured, transferred, and embedded at the receiving site
Ensure continuity of operations by securing processes, tooling, documentation, manufacturing data, and trained personnel
Identify, assess, and mitigate industrial risks related to quality, delivery, capacity, and operational disruption
Coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders (engineering, supply chain, industrial engineering, quality, suppliers, and customers) through strong transversal leadership
Ensure successful handover into stable, repeatable, and compliant production or maintenance operations
