Position Summary
Hands-on manufacturing engineering role focused on improving production processes, supporting new product launches, and driving continuous improvement across a multi-SKU, semi-custom production environment.
This role bridges engineering and operations—owning implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing systems to improve throughput, quality, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Optimization
· Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and variability
· Implement improvements to increase throughput, yield, and cost efficiency
· Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing
· Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
Manufacturing Execution & Support
· Support day-to-day production by troubleshooting equipment and process issues
· Monitor process performance and implement corrective actions
· Maintain safe, reliable, and repeatable manufacturing systems
· Collaborate with operations and quality to resolve production issues
New Product Introduction (NPI)
· Support transition of new products from design into production
· Assist in defining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and tooling
· Partner with engineering and quality to ensure successful product launches
Tooling, Fixtures & CAD
· Assist in design and fabrication of tooling, fixtures, and jigs
· Use CAD to create and update drawings and layouts
· Support development of efficient plant layouts and workflows
Documentation & Data Analysis
· Create and maintain technical process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions
· Collect and analyze production data to measure performance improvements
· Prepare reports on process capability, efficiency, and quality trends
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D on process improvements
· Support capital equipment evaluations and justification
· Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required
· Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
· 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing / process engineering experience
· Experience in production environments (preferably high-mix / configurable products)
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma
· Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt a plus)
· CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar)
· Experience with tooling, fixtures, or sewn/assembly-based manufacturing
· Experience with problem analysis and resolution
· Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
· Requires good leadership skills and communication skills
· Ability to recommend and implement improvements
