Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for an Industrial Manager to join our team in Kinston, NC.

Your Working Environment:
The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

Your Challenges:

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Interact and influence the Operations &Multi Functionalteam in a composite manufacturing and assembly environment.

  • Manage integratedMulti FunctionalTeam to deliver priorities and work with functional directors to ensure correct support is in place.

  • Monitor and analyze the entire industrial flow in a composite manufacturing and assembly environment ensuring all activities are aligned with operationalobjectivesand quality standards.

  • Actively lead, implement, and continuously improve the routines and standards according to the Airbus Operating System, using data/pareto analysis to address areas of opportunity/greatest importance.

  • Identifyroot cause(s) ofnon qualityandeliminatehumanfactor, quality defects that occur in the production/manufacturing/assembly process.

  • Continuously improve and reinforcea qualityculture.

  • Act as a Focal Point and facilitator for Widebody VSM and central Airbus entities (OM, etc.)

People-Focus

  • Contribute to a constant improvement in the working environment for the supplier by ensuring that the production facilities address any improvement opportunities.

  • Establish expectations forhigh levelsof flexibility and "multiple skill" requirements for the workplace and management.

  • Lead activities to ensure team membersremainmotivated and engaged whilemaintaininga positive team spirit.

  • Utilisean MFT to improvework flowand enhance existing processes, withparticularfocus on Delivery & Quality.

Productivity

  • Ensure delivery of finished product, in-line with agreed Quality gates.

  • Understand critical path items and any bottlenecks that maybe inhibitingour ramp up ability.

  • Drive actions and improvements to ensure successful completion of Quality Gates.

  • Ensure Performance Management Center includes PPC, SQCDP boards, OEEBoards, DailyQualityGate;along with the knowledge transfer and Root Cause Analysis.

  • Responsible for the development of resource forecast requirements basedon linebalancing, activity sequencing of PPC, andidentifyingthe necessary skill sets required to achieve committed build.

  • Responsible for the prevention and elimination of disturbances in the manufacturing process.

  • Contribute to global ramp up governance andidentifykey enablers.

  • Develop dynamic plans to ensureOntime and On Quality delivery of finished work packages to internal customers.

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or similar required or equivalent work experience.

  • 8+ yearsof relevant work experience, IndustrialEngineeringor similar role.

  • Knowledge of production and quality rules in the aviation industry

  • Lean manufacturing methodologies.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English, preferred fluency in another language (French, German, Spanish) is highly desirable.

  • Technicalproficiencyin SAP and Google Workplace.

  • Communication and teaching skills.

  • Leadership and ability to convince.

Travel Required:

  • 5-15% Domestic and International.

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents,reportsand engineering drawings.

  • Hearing: able toparticipatein conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliverinformationandparticipatein communications.

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able tooperatemost office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture andsome equipmentand tools.

  • Sitting: able to sit forlong periodsof time in meetings, working on the computer.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

  • Walking (includeroutine walking suchas toa shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

  • Personal Protective Equipmentrequired Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by supplier site.

  • Administrative position only PPErequired Steel-toed shoes arerequiredfor all shop floorvisits,appropriate hearing/eyeprotection may also berequiredwhen visiting the shop floor.
