responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment used in fabrication and welding operations. This includes MIG, TIG, plasma cutting systems, robotic welding cells, automated material handling equipment, and facility support systems. The technician must possess strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, be capable of interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and accurately use measuring instruments and diagnostic tools to ensure equipment reliability, production efficiency, and workplace safety. Focus on safety and safety practices first and foremost at all task inceptions. Represent TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hydraulic presses, ironworkers, pipe groovers, pipe threading machines, plasma cutting systems, welding equipment, and robotic welding cells.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, pressure controls, and associated components.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic press failures, ensuring proper operation, safety functions, and production readiness.
- Maintain and troubleshoot cutting equipment including cold saws, band saws, abrasive saws, and automated cutting machines.
- Repair and maintain pipe groovers, pipe threaders, and fabrication machinery used in piping operations.
- Repair and maintain power tools such as, grinders, die grinders, drills, eta.
- Troubleshoot servo motors, VFDs, motor controls, relays, contactors, and industrial control systems.
- Perform machine alignments, adjustments, calibrations, and precision measurements to maintain equipment accuracy and quality standards.
- Install, replace, and adjust bearings, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, belts, rollers, and drive systems.
- Fabricate replacement parts, brackets, guards, and supports as necessary to maintain production equipment.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, machine installations, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and productivity.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Experience working with welding equipment, plasma cutting systems, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems including drives, bearings, gearboxes, motors, pumps, and conveyors.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience maintaining robotic welding systems (FANUC, Redi2Weld, and others)
- PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Industrial electrical certification or apprenticeship.
- Welding and fabrication experience.

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent industrial maintenance training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry over 60 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders, lifts, and platforms.
- Ability to work in fabrication and manufacturing environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, boots, gloves, and welding-related protective equipment.
Special Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or emergency call-ins as needed.
- Must understand and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
