Job Description

We are accepting applications for the following position:

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of brewery equipment, automated packaging lines, fermentation tanks and brewhouse process vessels to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on brewing equipment, including pumps, conveyors, fillers, tanks, brewhouse vessels, packaging machines and refrigeration units.
  • Assist production teams with maintenance and packaging needs, ensuring smooth operation of brewing and bottling processes.
  • Maintain and service air compressors, glycol chillers, and steam boilers essential for brewing operations.
  • Perform PLC and VFD maintenance and repair to ensure automated brewing and packaging systems function correctly.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and electrical equipment used in brewing, bottling, and packaging processes.
  • Safely maintain, operate, and repair pressurized vessels or chemical tanks used in brewing and cleaning processes.
  • Repair and rebuild various motors and pumps integral to the brewing process, including wort pumps, transfer pumps, and bottling line motors.
  • Troubleshoot packaging line and brew house equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
  • Conduct duties independently with minimal supervision
  • Participate in regular training to improve performance
  • Regularly inspect brewing equipment, structures, or materials to identify errors, defects, or potential issues.
  • Respond promptly to any maintenance emergencies to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Work with management on facility planning and implementation of process improvements to enhance production efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Maintain complete documentation of maintenance and repair work, ensuring accurate records for compliance and future reference.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards during all maintenance activities, adhering to brewery-specific regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any cross-functional maintenance needs.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed vocational education or technician level (diploma) in an area related to mechanical / electrical engineering and cooling.
  • Training and experience in cooling systems is an advantage.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience working with mechanical / electrical equipment, cooling systems, pneumatics, and/or hydraulics.
  • Fluent in English language – oral and written, computer literate (MS office, CMMS)
  • Able to maintain and repair electrical / mechanical equipment, cooling systems
  • Able to multitask effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and be able to work with little supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to stand throughout a shift, walk through the brewery facility, reach for objects, navigate tight spaces, climb stairs and ladders and perform gross and fine motor tasks.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • May be exposed to a noisy, humid, and hot environment. Temperatures will vary at any given time.
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting required.

Pay Rate:CI$15.00-CI$22.00 per hour
