The Fremont Company is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our second-shift team at our Rockford, Ohio facility. As part of the team behind a variety of ketchup, BBQ sauce, and other tomato-based products, you will play an important role in keeping our production equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.
We are looking for a hands-on, dependable technician who enjoys troubleshooting problems, completing repairs, and helping keep a fast-paced food manufacturing facility running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and packaging equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and facility systems
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production needs
- Replace or repair motors, bearings, belts, chains, sensors, and other components
- Complete welding, fabrication, and basic machining work as needed
- Document completed repairs and preventive maintenance activities
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and improvement projects
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety, food safety, GMP, and company procedures
- Work closely with production employees and supervisors to reduce downtime
What We’re Looking For
- Previous industrial maintenance experience required
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs
- Strong communication, attendance, and dependability
- Willingness to work second shift and additional hours when needed
- Ability to safely lift, bend, climb, stand, and work around industrial equipment
