Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $31.74.

Pay:

This is based solely on experience. Pay will be one of the following:

Electrician 1: $31.74

Electrician 2: $34.18

This is a skilled level position working to install,maintain, andrepair electrical equipment in the plant and coordinate with outside contractors on electrical projects.The job requires that the employee be able to work safely and follow safety rules. Employee must be dependable, able to follow instructions and directions, according toestablishedoperating procedures, performs the following duties while cooperating with all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance and Protection:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements

  • Wears all personal protective equipment as required by management, including but not limited to all or some of the following: protective shoes, glasses, ear plugs, bump cap or hard hat, gloves, dustmaskor respirator

  • Must know, understand, and perform all plant and departmental safety regulations and procedures andimmediatelyreports any hazardous conditions

  • Performs safety observations and complete training assignments

  • Must know and understand company policies, regulations, and proceduresregardingemployee conduct and attendance

  • Excellent attendance and attitude

  • Diagnose,troubleshotand repair all electrical equipment and motors

  • Design and install new electrical systems and system modifications

  • Check and calibrate process control instrumentation throughout plant

  • Annual inspection and cleaning of motor control centers and electrical switchgear

  • Make adjustments toelectrical parts of equipment and control systems where needed

  • Coordinate with outside contractors on electrical projects

  • Program and install programmable logic controllers

  • Follow NFPA 70E electrical safety in the workplace standards

  • Comprehend electrical schematics and blueprints

  • Monthly inspection of ISO temperature checks for ovens

  • Annual inspection for shorts in breakers, wiring and supervise testing for arc flash

  • Electrical training for mechanics

  • Operate and perform duties using mobile equipment when needed

  • Responsible foroperatingin conformance with the ISO certification held by the Ruston facility

  • Performs other duties as directed

Education and/or Experienceand Skills

  • Associatedegree (A.A.) or equivalent fromatwo-yearCollege or technical school; or completion of an Industrial Electrician Program from a qualified technical school;three to five years ofindustrial electrical experience

  • Ability to readand interpretdocuments such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

  • Ability towriteroutine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations whereonly limited standardization exists

  • Ability to interpreta variety of instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
