Position: Sulzer Flat Loom Fixer/Industrial Loom Technician Trainee

Location: Truro, NS

Are you skilled in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery? Join our team as a Loom Fixer Trainee! You'll ensure our looms run smoothly, perform preventive maintenance, and help our crew operate safely and efficiently.

Shift Schedule:

• 12-hour rotational shifts: 8 am - 8 pm and 8 pm - 8 am
• Work 36 hours for two weeks and 48 hours the next, averaging 40 hours per week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read diagrams and schematics to determine work procedures
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and propose corrective actions
• Maintain and repair loom parts using hand and power tools
• Inspect machinery to detect and fix irregularities
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning
• Assemble machinery and equipment
• Conduct warp-outs and style changes as needed
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to implement production changes and train new employees

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Vocational training in industrial machinery repair, Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Welding, Fitting, or textile-specific training in Weaving or machinery repair
• 1+ year experience as a loom fixer or in a similar industrial manufacturing role
• Strong electro-mechanical skills
• Good mathematical ability
• Experience in quality assurance and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with Sulzer flat looms is an asset
