As an Industrial Layout Technician, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating industrial projects across several Pratt & Whitney sites throughout Canada. You will work closely with clients, design teams, and multidisciplinary partners to ensure project success from the initial phase through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet with clients to understand their needs, ensure follow-ups, and prepare meeting minutes
• Participate in project kick-off meetings with the professional team at BPA
• Conduct field surveys on the shop floor (measurements, observations, data collection)
• Receive, analyze, and validate inputs from clients and the consulting team, both in design and on-site
• Coordinate activities between disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical) to advance projects
• Maintain ongoing collaboration with clients to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle
• Participate in design reviews at approximately 90% completion in collaboration with PWC and BPA
• Attend health and safety meetings prior to the detailed engineering phase
• Design plant layouts and production facilities using AutoCAD, based on project requirements
• Prepare estimates, technical specifications, and project reports
• Ensure clear and effective communication among all stakeholders
• Deliver excellent client service and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
Your Profile:
• Education: College diploma (DEC) in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a similar role in industrial project management or within an engineering consulting firm
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit is an asset
• Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail and quality; excellent communication skills and customer service orientation; dynamic personality with strong interpersonal skills; strong writing skills for reporting and communications
• Languages: Proficiency in French, both spoken and written
• Other: Valid driver’s license; frequent travel to client sites required
Work Environment Exposure:
• Potential exposure to electrical relays, industrial gases, and machinery
• ASP Construction card required; training can be provided on-site (working at heights, confined spaces, exposure to airborne contaminants, hazardous energy, etc.)
