Reporting to the Coordinator -OH/IH, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace health hazards to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
You Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following
Generating Similar Exposure Groups (SEGs) and formulating Sampling Plans
Conducting Noise, Dust, Illumination, Radiation, Vibration and VOC monitoring
Ensuring employee awareness of occupational health and safety concerns, programs, and regulations by conducting training and presentations.
Implementing corrective actions and suspending operations if required.
Advising and collaborating with management to resolve occupational health issues.
Creating and executing studies to monitor and assess employees' exposure to health risks, and to measure the effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies, and procedures.
Assessing and analyzing research data, summarizing statistics, and compiling reports.
Proposing and leading the implementation of programs to protect employee health and implementing ergonomics.
Conducting regular audits of programs.
Advising various parties on workers' compensation claims pertaining to workplace exposures.
To be considered for this position, the applicant must have the following:
Grade 12 Certificate
Bachelor’s degree in industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Environmental Health Science orChemistry from a reputable institution
Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, occupational safety regulations, and hazard control techniques.
Ability to use monitoring and sampling equipment (e.g., air quality monitors, noise dosimeters).
Ability to analyze data and interpret results to make informed decisions.
Must have good written and oral communication skills in English
Strong communication skills to present findings and recommendations to various audiences.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Possession of a clean manual driver’s license is an added advantage.
