Job Description

The General Laborer provides essential support to refinery maintenance and operations teams by performing a variety of manual labor tasks in active refinery environments. This role focuses on maintaining safe work areas, assisting skilled trades, and supporting day-to-day operations while following strict safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties such as material handling, site cleanup, and debris removal
• Assist skilled trades (mechanics, welders, machinists, electricians, etc.) as directed
• Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment
• Set up and break down work areas, barricades, and safety zones
• Perform basic hand tool tasks under supervision
• Support confined space, hot work, and maintenance activities as assigned
• Follow refinery safety policies, including lockout/tagout, PPE, and permit requirements
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency work

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Prior industrial, construction, or refinery labor experience preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in industrial environments
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods
• Active TWIC card (required)
• Enrollment with DISA Global Solutions (required)
• Must pass and remain compliant with DISA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including hair follicle testing
• Current Basic Plus safety training (required)
• Willingness and ability to travel to refinery locations in Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi, Texas
• Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime
