Industrial Forklift Operator - Shipping Dept, Monticello, Arkansas - Swing Shift, Shipping Department

As an Industrial Forklift Operator in the Shipping Department in Monticello, Arkansas, you'll play a critical role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently by moving, organizing, and loading lumber products throughout the mill.

Working alongside production and shipping teams, you'll operate industrial forklifts, maintain accurate inventory movements, and support the safe flow of materials from production to shipment. The pay rate for this position is $22.74 per hour

What You'll Do

• Operate forklifts safely in compliance with all Interfor, OSHA, and MOPED safety standards and guidelines.
• Move inventory and materials across company facilities, stacking and organizing large bulk items efficiently.
• Work collaboratively with team members to load and unload materials safely.
• Update inventory activity, logs, lists, and records accurately.
• Identify damaged materials or replacements needed and report appropriately.
• Address and clean up any spills or safety hazards before leaving the shift.
• Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
• Clean forklifts regularly using a pressure washer and assist with preventive maintenance tasks, including tire changes.
• Follow all safety policies, job safety analyses, and standard operating procedures to prevent injuries and avoid damage to mill property.
• Must be able to safely climb on top of railcars and be comfortable working in elevated areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or mill management.
• Be available for occasional weekend work as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely enter and exit forklift equipment repeatedly during a shift.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, including climbing railcars.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying outdoor and industrial environmental conditions.

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred.
• Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification through a standard training course.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations, following established procedures.
