Summary:
The Industrial Engineer-Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization is responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing inventory control processes and material flows across the apparel manufacturing supply chain. This role applies engineering principles, data analytics, and system integration strategies to ensure inventory accuracy, improve operational efficiency, and support production planning and decision-making.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize inventory control systems, including cycle counting strategies, reconciliation processes, and material flow across manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Analyze inventory data, transaction accuracy, and process variability to identify root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective engineering solutions.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and system controls to ensure real-time inventory accuracy and traceability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles to reduce waste, improve inventory turns, and enhance data accuracy.
- Develop data models and reporting tools (KPIs, dashboards) to support inventory visibility and decision-making across operations.
- Collaborate with Planning, Procurement, and Production teams to align inventory strategies with demand and capacity planning.
- Optimize ERP system configurations (Dynamics GP), including item setup, BOM structures, routings, and location management.
- Support standard cost analysis and system integration to ensure accurate material valuation and financial alignment.
- Identify system gaps and drive automation or system enhancements to reduce manual intervention and improve process reliability.
- Lead annual physical inventory design, planning, and execution as part of a structured inventory management system.
- Provide technical training and guidance to operational teams related to inventory processes and system usage.
- Conduct vendor site visits to evaluate key manufacturing processes, assess compliance with operational standards, and identify opportunities for process improvement, quality enhancement, and alignment with internal engineering and inventory control requirements.

QualificationsEducation and/or
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline (REQUIRED).
- 2–5 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain analysis, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory optimization methods, supply chain processes, and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred). Experience in apparel manufacturing is a plus.
