As an Industrial Engineer, you will improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost performance across manufacturing and operational processes. You will focus on process optimization, capacity planning, labour use, line balancing, workflow improvements, Lean Manufacturing programmes, and data-driven continuous improvement to support our goals.

You will report to the MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER and work onsite in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, India.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyse manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and implement process optimization initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and throughput.

  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Kaizen events.

  • Perform capacity analysis and production planning support.

  • Execute line balancing and manpower optimization studies.

  • Establish labor standards using time studies and work measurement techniques.

  • Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and drive improvement actions.

  • Design and improve production layouts to maximize space utilization and workflow efficiency.

  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and manufacturing transfers.

  • Develop standard work instructions and process documentation.

  • Evaluate and implement automation opportunities.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data.

  • Develop productivity dashboards and KPI reports.

  • Track operational metrics including cycle time, utilization, quality, and cost performance.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations to management.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings in labor, materials, equipment, and processes.

  • Lead projects focused on waste elimination and operational excellence.

  • Support annual productivity and cost improvement targets.

  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects.

  • Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams.

  • Ensure projects are completed on time and meet expected business benefits.

The Essentials – You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • 8–15 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations Excellence.

  • May require occasional travel to supplier or customer sites.

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.

  • Time Study and Work Measurement.

  • Line Balancing and Capacity Planning.

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Value Stream Mapping (VSM).

  • Statistical Analysis and Problem Solving.

  • Production Planning and Process Optimization.

  • Microsoft excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Power BI, Minitab, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools.

  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) exposure preferred.

  • 3D Modelling Softwares.

  • APICS Certification.

  • Industrial Engineering-related certifications.
