The Industrial Engineer applies work measurements, methods and procedures, financial analysis, information system modeling, statistical analysis, project management, and site layout design in a distribution environment. This position supports and coordinates work across engineering teams, cross-functional partners, and customers to ensure expectations are met while achieving targeted financial outcomes. The incumbent may serve in a lead or support role within the Distribution and Logistics Engineering group, supporting customer implementations, large-scale projects, and technology deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Solutions and Business Development to define project scope, identify data requirements, and align on stakeholder roles and responsibilities

  • Recommends adjustments to ensure solutions incorporate an accurate scope of work

  • Serves as a resource for operational problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement to support organic growth opportunities

  • Analyzes data required to develop operating plans and distribution layouts

  • Performs cost-benefit analyses to ensure effective use of resources and maximize return on investment

  • Conducts gap analyses between proposed solutions and post-implementation operating results

  • Helps resolve conflicts and clarify stakeholder communications to maintain alignment with corporate objectives

  • Assists in validating planned versus actual task completion to assess project impacts

  • Develops and implements solutions to operational issues and provides recommendations for improvement

  • Participates in Business Review and Planning meetings and partners with the operations management team to implement solutions and conduct follow-up

  • Works with the operations management team to implement changes that drive cost reduction and service improvements

  • Independently identifies problems in methods, processes, or workflow; conducts analyses, interprets results, and recommends solutions to address requirements, problems, or inefficiencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plans, and individual role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough, and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the project manager

  • Leverages technological knowledge to achieve business objectives; resolves issues impeding work; adapts information, facts, or data to varying situations or groups and recommends changes to approach based upon knowledge of trends and best practices

  • Identifies common problems with current work designs; specifies requirements for new work designs; modifies or adjusts existing work methods, processes, and flows to resolve operational issues

  • Proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD; Proficiency in Access and PowerBI a plus

  • Understanding of Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionality

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Industrial Engineering or related field
