Job Description

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing packaging and processing systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. This role focuses on process improvement, workflow optimization, and resource utilization while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards. The Industrial Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance.

Your Responsibilities

  • Tests and evaluates integrated systems for managing manufacturing processes, uses analysis of human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
  • In collaboration with production leaders and personnel, coordinates continuous improvement/lean initiatives for all KHS facilities in alignment with KHS GmbH programs.
  • Facilitates work teams to make production operations more efficient and profitable; tracks process improvement strategies, objectives, milestones, and metrics.
  • Reviews production schedules, work orders, engineering specifications, and related information to estimate manufacturing costs, design cost saving methods, and determine the effects of process changes on costs and quality; provides reports for management review, action, and control.
  • Creation and maintenance of work instructions
  • Works to reduce working capital by implementing methods and systems to ensure a more effective and efficient level of inventory.
  • Communicates best practices throughout the organization.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
  • One to five years of experience in an FDA-regulated food, beverage, chemical, or industrial packaging/processing environment—or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (preferably SAP), and CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with process optimization tools and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
