Founded in 2017, we have grown rapidly from a one-truck operation to a high-performing team of over 200 employees and a fleet of 55+ fully tooled service trucks. We are committed to taking care of customers throughout Canada, providing 24/7 service, 365 days a year.
We are hiring an experienced licensed Industrial Electrician to perform field service, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy mining and construction equipment. This is a rotational field-service opportunity working a 14-days-on, 14-days-off schedule. The successful Electrician will troubleshoot and repair heavy mining equipment using company-provided tools while supporting customer operations safely and professionally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components on electric mining equipment, including drills, shovels, haul trucks, and other related mining equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical issues on high-voltage cable systems, AC/DC drives, high-voltage systems, and related electrical components.
• Work through electrical systems to identify root causes and safely return mining equipment to production.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to mining equipment systems and components.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Support mast exchanges, shutdowns, project work, and ongoing site coverage.
• Work closely with mechanics and other trades to ensure seamless equipment operation.
• Assist with mechanical work and become involved in equipment repairs when required.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Related job requirements as assigned.
Requirements:
• Licensed electrician in the province in which the work is being performed. Red Seal certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with high-voltage cable systems, AC/DC drives, and high-voltage systems.
• 3-5 years of mining experience preferred.
• Experience working with brands such as CAT, Komatsu, Bucyrus, P&H, and other mining equipment preferred.
• Comfortable approaching electric mining equipment, working through the electrical systems, finding the root cause, and safely getting the machine back into production.
• Strong field troubleshooting and industrial electrical experience.
• Experience with electric surface drills, electric and hydraulic shovels, haul trucks, and other related mining equipment is an asset.
• Electric haul truck experience is an asset but is not the primary requirement for this position.
• Willingness to assist with mechanical work and work closely with mechanics and other trades.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and heights.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing electrical systems.
• Interest in a long-term opportunity supporting additional projects and ongoing site coverage.
All Successful Candidates Must:
• Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
• Provide at least two references from previous direct supervisors.
• Complete a criminal record check. Minor or unrelated offences will not necessarily disqualify a candidate and will be reviewed individually.
• Provide a five-year driver’s abstract that is acceptable for the position. Minor infractions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Successfully complete an eight-panel drug test, including marijuana, and an alcohol breath test.
• Be seeking direct employment. Subcontractor opportunities are not available for this position.
• Be proficient in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Be able to easily lift up to 50 lbs.
We thank everyone for applying; however, only those who possess the required knowledge and experience will be contacted for an interview.
