Purpose of Position
To provide electrical / electronic maintenance, troubleshooting, and engineering support of production equipment, power distribution and utility systems.
Regular Duties / Responsibilities
1) Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic work. (Work on energized circuits is required.)
2) Perform project, modification and installation work as directed.
3) Perform electrical preventive, scheduled and corrective maintenance.
4) Fabricate / modify electrical operation and control enclosures for plant equipment.
5) Procure replacement / new supplies and inventory and maintain electrical parts,
tools, and stock materials which are related to the maintenance function.
6) Operate, modify and maintain the electrical power distribution systems for SEL areas.
7) Program, troubleshoot and utilize programmable controllers and other computing devices.
8) Review Preventive Maintenance records to monitor machine performance and identify areas for improvement.
9) Accurately record data for activity reports, work request /job cards, and other administrative reports and forms.
10) Test equipment after repairs.
Periodic Duties / Responsibilities
1) Support Electrical Engineers within the Plant Engineering Department as
required.
2) Provide technical support and assistance to Process Engineering and Production Personnel.
3) Design, build and implement electrical solutions to machine problems.
4) Coordinate and manage assigned projects, including direct supervision of outside contractors.
5) Review the work of outside contractors to insure compliance with all applicable policies and codes.
6) Perform Plant Safety audits to identify faulty equipment / systems.
7) Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment / Tool Use Requirements
1) Use and understanding of the following equipment is required:
Ammeters Digital Multimeters Oscilloscopes
Personal Computers PLC Programmers Power Supplies
Shop Tools
2) Experience with and use of the following information is required:
National Electrical Code OSHA 1910 Subpart S
Minimum Skill Requirements
1 Associates Degree, or equivalent experience, in a related field or an apprenticeship program is required.
2) 1 to 3 years of experience in an industrial environment as an electrician is required.
3) Machine installation and construction experience
