Job Description

INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICAL & CONTROLS TECHNICIAN

Northern Kentucky · Food manufacturing · Day or night

A controls seat for someone who can open a panel, read the drawing, and get the line back up.

Why this is open

The plant is adding capacity and the electrical and controls load has outgrown the current team. This is not a helper role. It is the person who owns the PLC, the VFD, the motor control, and the reason the line stopped.

The work

You would troubleshoot, repair, and improve electrical and automated control systems on production equipment in a food manufacturing plant. The work is real-time support of the lines plus planned upgrades and startups.

That means PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, control panels, and motor controls. Allen-Bradley is the everyday platform. Siemens and Mitsubishi experience travels. You read schematics and control drawings without a translator.

You would also support plant startups, equipment upgrades, and the continuous improvement that keeps downtime from becoming the schedule. GMP and food-safety rules are part of the job, not an afterthought.

What good looks like

  • You find the fault and fix it, not just swap the part.
  • You can explain the failure to a mechanic or a supervisor without the jargon getting in the way.
  • You follow NFPA 70E and lockout because that is how the plant stays open.
  • You document the work in the CMMS so the next person does not start from zero.

Who this is for

  • 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance or controls troubleshooting preferred.
  • Associate degree, technical certification, apprenticeship, military training, or equivalent experience in electrical technology, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or automation.
  • Comfortable in a food plant. GMP experience is a plus, not a gate.
  • Able to work the 12-hour rotating schedule, day or night.

The schedule

Two 12-hour shifts. Day is 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Night is 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The days rotate monthly. One month is Monday through Thursday. The next is Friday through Monday. Then it switches. Overtime and weekend coverage happen. This is a plant, not an office.

Pay and benefits- $32-$38 per hour

Pay is competitive for industrial controls in the Northern Kentucky market. Benefits include medical, dental, 401(k), and the usual plant package. Exact range depends on experience and is discussed on the call.

The place

A growing food manufacturing operation in the Walton area. Two working shifts. Real equipment. Real downtime pressure. The company name comes after you decide the work is interesting.
