Job Description

Nofence is a Norwegian scale-up that has built the world’s first virtual fencing solution for livestock. As we aim to revolutionize livestock management, we will need top-notch competence in our Engineering team, and we are now looking for an Industrial Designer.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Generate and visualize design concepts and mechanical solutions for our future livestock hardware products, taking them from early ideas to production-ready models.
• Design for manufacturing by cooperation with mechanical and manufacturing engineers.
• Develop the design guidelines for industrial design in the company.
• Contribute to field research on farms and ranches to observe livestock interactions, working conditions, and operator workflows to inform design concepts.
• Design products that prioritize animal welfare, prevent injury, and ensure ergonomic, intuitive handling for farmers and agricultural technicians.
• Partner with Product Management and UX design to translate user feedback, field research, and competitive insights into compelling, feasible physical product concepts.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Bachelor or Master degree in industrial or product design.
• Experience designing electro-mechanical products for volume manufacturing.
• Excellent visualization skills on paper and with physical and digital models.
• Creative problem-solving skills for complex design solutions.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Motivated by working in an autonomous cross-functional team.
• Structured with the ability to bridge the gap between user needs and design for manufacturing.
• Motivated to facilitate workshops and creative sessions.
• Comfortable working in an English-speaking work environment.
• Drivers license and ability to travel abroad.
