Our mission is to be the global leader in regenerative healing, making our products and services accessible to everybody.

About the role:
Join our Product Development team as an Industrial Designer and play a key role in shaping the future of medical devices. As an Industrial Designer, you’ll contribute to early stage product innovation, conducting feasibility investigations, developing prototypes, and creating minimum viable concepts. You’ll act as a subject matter expert across industrial design, packaging, and UX/UI, collaborating with other teams to deliver thoughtful, user centred solutions that meet both clinical and regulatory needs. Other responsibilities include-

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of medical device design trends and technologies
  • Develop design concepts via modelling and prototyping
  • Design and execute formative studies for products and packaging
  • Gather user feedback to inform design concepts
  • Support regulatory and design control activities with technical input
  • Prepare updates and reports for stakeholders
  • Support other development teams as a design SME

What we’re looking for:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role and be confident working across the full product lifecycle, from early concept through to production. Strong communication skills are key, as you’ll be translating complex ideas into clear, user focused design solutions.

  • Strong expertise in UX/UI principles and industrial design, with working knowledge in CAD tools
  • Hands on prototyping experience (3D printing, laser cutting, physical modelling)
  • Excellent visual communication and presentation skills (Adobe Creative Suite, basic photography/videography)
  • Strong sketching and visual ideation skills, with the ability to quickly communicate concepts and iterate designs
  • Understanding of medical device design processes and regulatory requirements
  • Creative and critical thinker, able to solve complex design challenges

What we offer:

At AROA NZ, we value our people and make sure working with us is rewarding, both professionally and personally. Here’s what you can enjoy as part of our team:

  • GROW TOGETHER – AROA’s Employee Share Plan an opportunity for eligible employees to share in the success and future growth of AROA
  • Career Growth & Impact – Be part of a mission-led company doing work that’s never been done before, with opportunities for learning, development, and real impact.
